The woman in the tech industry!

The woman in the tech industry!

Women are increasingly taking their place in the labor market. But is it really the same story in the technology industry sector?

The data regarding women in large tech companies with senior positions is positive. However, even when women have a higher level of access to education, men still have higher employability rates and receive higher wages.

The 8th Brazilian Industry Innovation Congress had, for the first time, a panel made up exclusively of female executives, who discussed the importance of women in the area of research, development and innovation. The participating women, known for their work in their respective sectors, and also for promoting gender equality, highlighted the importance of women for the advancement of the industry in the area of innovation.

Women have always been involved with the most important technological innovations, and even so, they managed to reconcile their careers and their families, creating innovative solutions in a world still dominated by the male presence. Having both functions is not a problem.

Although many companies give the necessary importance to the inclusion of women in the world of technological innovations, we know that gender inequality is not a matter of now. There is a lot of work that needs to be done to make the ratio between men and women in technology companies, especially in positions of trust, become more equal.

According to the Director of Innovation at the National Confederation of Industry, Gianna Sagazio, “we will not be able to become an innovative and developed country if we do not advance in the issue of gender equality”. And to make a historic change, it is necessary to leave prejudice and barriers against women aside, have well-defined incentive policies and emphasize the importance and representativeness that many of them symbolize!
